Prolog

Coffee:

  • Prolog – I love the Østerbro location, and their hot chocolate is unreal

  • La Cabra – best matcha and a great cardamom bun. The new Nordhavn location is stunning

  • April – an exceptional coffee experience for those who appreciate coffee, go to enjoy the experience not to get a quick coffee to go

  • Lokal – small cozy spot with a beautiful interior and an exceptional flat white

  • Orsa – fun spot + good drinks, also the banana bread was amazing

  • Coffee Collective – a good spot to work remote from or grab a coffee to go, they have multiple locals around the city, you can skip the pastries though

  • Noma Projects – a fun way to experience Noma on a budget, they allow you to try all of their products in a complimentary tasting while you wait for your coffee

April

Pastries:

  • Juno – best cardamom bun in the city IMO, worth the line

  • Apotek 57 – a creative rotating selection of pastries, I had a coffee cream filled cardamom bun as well as a miso caramel croissant that were my top pastries favorites from the trip

  • Riviera – a lovely selection and very cute spot. Delicious brunch as well!

  • Hart – the cardamom croissant is a must. Also the spandeur (a cream danish) the tebirkes (a classic danish pastry with marzipan + poppy seeds), and vanilla orange cardamom bun are all divine. A BMO is a non-negotiable from here. Insider tip they also sell their bread loaves as a half!

  • Bageriet B – fun lowkey local spot

  • Lille Bakery – a little trek but worth it! Definitely try the bun they are known for

  • Andersen & Maillard – Get the chocolate chip cookie! Also a great BMO

Juno

Apotek 57

Brunch:

  • Apotek 57 – my favorite breakfast plate and very chic spot, also amazing pastry selection. The savory waffle is also divine!

  • Amator – The coziest neighborhood spot known for their “sexy omelette” and the complimentary sourdough and olive oil was unreal. Make a reservation if you want to sit inside!

  • Studio x Kitchen – Amazing folded eggs + homemade focaccia

  • Bar Moro – A very cute all day cafe

  • Atelier September – A well known spot, but for good reason. Incredible breakfast plate, omelette, and seasonal pancakes

  • Sonny – the location in Frederiksburg! The yuzu pancakes were delicious

  • Lagoni + Co. – bagels!!

Amator

Bar Moro

Lunch:

  • Alle Tiders – my favorite lunch spot! They have a set lunch menu for 100dkk (about $15) and it is mostly vegetable based and the meal and space is so hygge! Definietly add on the focaccia and whipped butter. Also a great spot to work remote from

  • Poulette – famous spicy chicken sandwich and worth the hype. Go early in the day as they are known to sell out

  • Format – the cafe at Designmuseum! Perfect on a rainy day after visiting the museum.

  • Comé Rice Kitchen – amazing onigiri in the meatpacking district

  • Etta – focaccia sandwiches in the heart of city center

Cleo

Dinner:

  • Cleo – My FAVORITE meal of the trip hands down. A 7 course set menu for 350dkk (around $50) and every single dish was exceptional. I would say this is a must go!

  • Fabro – Another must go! Cheap (for CPH) amazing pasta and very cozy small spot. Go early as it gets busy or prepare to wait in line

  • Margo – very chic and cozy traditional Italian spot

  • Oberra – I recommend the 5 course set menu for 275dkk (about $40), all pescatarian!

  • Slurp Ramen – delicious ramen and vibey spot

  • Palazzo Diner – make a reservation for The Pasta Club! You can get three courses (starter, pasta, + dessert) for 199dkk (around $30)

  • Corsa Pizza – Good classic pizza + wine when you want an affordable dinner. I like the locations in Østerbro + Nordhavn!

  • Delphine – vibey Mediterranean inspired restaurant with beautiful interiors. I feel the price was a bit too steep for how I felt about the food, but I’m including because it’s a beautiful spot and great service

Pompette

Drink:

  • Pompette – very cozy + vibey natural wine bar (and go to their sister restaurant Poulette next door for a spicy chicken sandwich!)

  • Bird – creative cocktails + vinyl listening bar, I like the location in city center

  • Bar Vitrine – small wine bar with amazing small bites, featuring one of the past chefs from Noma

  • Bottega Barlie – lovely spot for a glass of wine and share plates

  • Bar Moro – Food, cocktails, + wine, and a cozy vibe

  • Aben – Cute beer bar, I like the location in Nordhavn

  • Apollo – A fun spot to sit outdoors for an aperitif near Nyhavn. Get the soft serve too!

  • Jojo – affordable cocktails on tap, they have multiple locations

Bird

Louisiana Museum

Musuems:

  • Louisiana Museum – a 40 min train outside of the city and so so worth it. Get a coffee + pastry on the way and walk around the sculptural garden before seeing the inside

  • Designmuseum – if you appreciate design this is a must, grab lunch in their cafe Format afterwards!

  • Glypoteket – jawdropping museum with tons of greek + roman sculptures, some french paintings, and currently also has a behind the scenes exhibition on Edgar Degas’ famous dancers that was fascinating

  • Copenhagen Contemporary – has a stunning exhibit by James Turrell “Aftershock”

Designmuseum

The Lakes

Parks:

  • Frederiksberg Garden – stunning place to walk or picnic, there is also a spot you can see the elephants from the CPH Zoo!

  • The Lakes – my favorite spot to walk and see the swans. If your’e looking for a Kitschy activity rent a swan boat lol

  • King’s Garden – perfect park in the heart of city center

  • Botanical Garden – another beautiful park to walk or picnic

  • Ørstedsparken – ditto above

Shop:

  • Ganni Postmodern – The Ganni “outlet” with heavily discounted items!

  • Boii Studios – Cozy + cute Copenagen fashion at very reasonable prices

  • Frama – lovely scents, stop in to their design cafe next door, Apotek 57

  • Tekla – the towels + linens of your dreams

  • New Mags – lovely bookstore

  • Naked – the most amazing shoe store

  • Pico – cute jewelry + accessories

  • Louise Roe – a stunning showroom that also features a cute cafe called The Roe Bar

  • Illum Mall – insane mall with every designer brand you can want plus a Muji on the top floor

  • Studio Arhoj Study – CPH made ceramics + more and you can watch them do glass blowing. The location on Nørregade has an analog photobooth!

Louise Roe

HAY House

Activites:

  • See a ballet at Operaen

  • Reffen street food market

  • La Banchina in the summertime for a swim + wine!

  • Tivoli Gardens amusment park – the second oldest amusement park and it inspired Disneyland! It’s about $30 to enter and you can pay per ride, or about $70 for all inclusive ticket. Fun to see for either Halloween or Christmas decorations!

  • Swim at Sandkaj in Nordhavn

  • Shop on Strøget

  • Eat a BMO (stands for “Bolle med ost”, i.e. bun with butter and cheese in Danish – it’s a classic and a must eat)

  • Eat a Danish hotdog – you honestly can’t go wrong at the hot dog carts around the city

  • Analog Photobooth at Studio Arhoj Study (on Nørregade)

  • Nyhavn (of course!) to see the famous colored townhouses on the canal
