Copenhagen Guide

Coffee:

  • Prolog – I love the Østerbro location, and their hot chocolate is to die for. They are around the corner from Juno and also serve Juno pastries if you don’t want to queue.

  • La Cabra – best matcha and a great cardamom bun. The new Nordhavn location is stunning.

  • April – an exceptional coffee experience for those who appreciate coffee, go to enjoy the experience not to get a quick coffee to go.

  • Lokal – small cozy spot with a beautiful interior and am exceptional flat white

  • Orsa – fun spot + good drinks, also the banana bread was amazing

  • Coffee Collective – a good spot to work remote from or grab a coffee to go, they have multiple locals around the city, you can skip the pastries though.

  • Noma Projects – a fun way to experience Noma on a budget, they allow you to try all of their products in a complimentary tasting while you wait for your coffee.

Musuems:

  • Louisiana Museum – a 40 min train outside of the city and so so worth it. Get a coffee + pastry on the way and walk around the sculptural garden before seeing the inside

  • Designmuseum – if you appreciate design this is a must, grab lunch in their cafe Format afterwards!

  • Glypoteket – jawdropping museum with a wide array of art, tons of greek + roman sculptures, some french paintings, and currently also has a behind the scenes exhibition on Edgar Degas’ famous dancers that was fascinating.

  • Copenhagen Contemporary – has a stunning exhibit by James Turrell “Aftershock”

Pastries:

  • Juno – best cardamom bun in the city IMO, also get a slice of the lemon loaf and pistachio croissant if they have it!

  • Apotek 57 – a creative rotating selection of pastries, I had a coffee cream filled cardamom bun as well as a miso caramel croissant that were my top pastries favorites from the trip

  • Riviera – a lovely selection and very cute spot. Delicious brunch as well!

  • Hart – the cardamom croissant is a must. Also the spandeur ( a cream danish) the tebirkes (a classic danish pastry with marzipan + poppy seeds), and vanilla orange cardamom bun are all divine. A BMO is a non-negotiable from here. Insider tip they also sell their bread loaves as a half!

  • Bageriet B – fun lowkey local spot

  • Lille Bakery – a little trek but worth it! Definitely try the bun they are known for

  • Anderson & Maillard – Get the chocolate chip cookie! Also a great BMO.
